Day 11 & 12

Day 11 7.8.16

So Eric developed a raging ear infection (we think from the pools at Los Lagos) and was down for the count today. Luckily I had packed a set of antibiotics for ear infections, so he started that right away. Poor guy...I would not wish this pain on anyone.

My mom, Gracie and I decided to drive up to Nosara (we haven't been yet) to see if we could find a pharmacy for Eric and a place to buy food. After a nice long detour through Playa Pelada, we found Nosara. "Bigger" town it is not! We found a small farmacia and "super", but nothing that we cannot find in Playa Guiones. I guess there is no need to drive up to "town".

Another beach day in Playa Garza, just wonderful!

First nice sunset
Playing at Playa Garza
Vista Royal Sunset
Bug alarm, sunset is when they all start to come out
Collection of heart shaped shells and rocks
Collected these while praying for Felix, Ana's baby
Sponge Bob

Day 12 7.9.16

Uncle Scott arrives and my parents leave for their mission to Jaco.

The howler monkeys gave us quite a show today, Scott got some great footage.

We spent the afternoon in the piscinas del mar in south Playa Guiones. We will be going back there, when it is really low tide, or el mar esta seca, the tide pools create a "pool" to swim in, so fun for the kids. We also went down to show Uncle Scott the surf of Playa Guiones. There was a surf competition going on so we stayed to watch for a while and play in the waves. It is such a beautiful beach, we had a blast catching crabs in the rising tide. Gracie was too slow picking one up and got her little fingers pinched. It scared her more than hurt, but that put an end to the fun.

We stopped at a local pescaderia and bought some shrimp that was just caught. I made shrimp cocktail for dinner, so delicious.

  1. I've been reading your blog posts and they are a wonderful distraction while being at the hospital. I can day dream that I'm enjoying Costa Rica, too! And thank you for praying for my Felix. :)
